What makes text look aesthetic
"Aesthetic" text is less about one font and more about a mood: soft, airy, a little dreamy. A few ingredients do most of the work:
- Space: wide letters and gaps, like Vaporwave or s p a c e d.
- Small, calm letters: ꜱᴍᴀʟʟ ᴄᴀᴘꜱ and lowercase words.
- Light curves: thin 𝒸𝓊𝓇𝓈𝒾𝓋𝑒 or a clean 𝗌𝖺𝗇𝗌.
- One small symbol: a sparkle ✧, a star ⋆ or a heart ♡.
Vaporwave wide text
The wide style uses fullwidth characters. They were made so Latin letters line up neatly with Chinese, Japanese and Korean characters, which are square. The internet borrowed them for the retro "vaporwave" look of the 2010s, and they've stayed popular for playlist titles and bios ever since.

Mix one aesthetic style with plain text instead of stacking several styles together. The calm look comes from restraint.
Finishing touches
Pair your text with a kaomoji like (◕‿◕) or a soft divider from the symbols page, such as ⋆。°✩ or ──── ୨୧ ────.
Wide and spaced styles take up more room, so they are best for short names and titles. For whole sentences, small caps and light cursive stay easier to read.
Quick recipes
| Mood | What to combine |
|---|---|
| Soft and dreamy | Small caps with one sparkle ✧ |
| Retro and moody | Wide vaporwave letters with a moon ☾ |
| Clean and minimal | Lowercase sans letters, no symbols |
| Sweet and light | Thin cursive with a small heart ♡ |
Check the result in both light and dark mode, since thin letters can fade out on a pale background. Wide and spaced styles also don't work in hashtags or usernames, where apps only allow plain letters and numbers, so keep those in a normal font.
