Bubble letters and square letters
Bubble text puts every letter inside a circle, like ⓣⓗⓘⓢ. It's playful, easy to read and works on almost every device. This page also has the bold, dark versions and the square-letter styles:
- Bubble: Ⓑⓤⓑⓑⓛⓔ, with upper and lower case and numbers ①②③.
- Dark bubble: 🅑🅤🅑🅑🅛🅔, white letters in black circles, plus ❶❷❸.
- Squares: 🅂🅀🅄🄰🅁🄴, letters in boxes.
- Dark squares: 🆂🆀🆄🅰🆁🅴, white letters on black tiles.
- Parentheses: ⒫⒜⒭⒠⒩⒮, letters wrapped in brackets.
- Letter tiles: regional indicator letters that show as coloured tiles on many phones.
Why the dark styles are all capitals
Unicode only includes the dark circled and squared letters as capitals. So "hello" becomes 🅗🅔🅛🅛🅞 rather than a lowercase version. The light bubble style has both cases.
Why some letters turn into emoji
A few square letters, such as 🅰 🅱 🅾 🅿, are also emoji (they were used for blood types and parking signs). Some phones draw them in colour, which can look uneven next to the other letters. If that happens, use the light square style instead.
The letter tiles style has the same quirk on purpose: pairs of these letters can join into country flags. The generator places an invisible separator between them so your word doesn't turn into a flag by accident.
Where bubble text looks good
- Kids' party and event captions
- Short gamer tags and team names
- Highlight titles and short section labels
- Playful replies in chat
Bubble letters are wide, so keep them to a word or two. For a longer line, small caps or bold text are easier to read.
