Lines through, under and over your text
These styles work differently from bold or cursive. Instead of swapping letters, they add a combining mark after each one. A combining mark is a character with no width of its own that draws on top of the letter before it, the same way accents like é are made.

- To-do lists where finished items are crossed out.
- Underlined titles in places that don't support formatting.
Why the line can look broken
Each mark is drawn by the font for each letter separately. Some fonts make the stroke a little shorter than the letter, so you may see tiny gaps, especially between spaces. Spaces are left unmarked on purpose so words stay clearly separated. If one style looks patchy on your device, try the other strikethrough option.
Already have formatting?
If your app supports markdown, like Discord messages, typing ~~text~~ gives a cleaner strikethrough. Use this generator where formatting isn't available, such as names, bios and comments.
Combine styles with the "Bold strikethrough" option, or see more Discord fonts.
Unicode underline and strikethrough
The lines you see here are made with Unicode combining characters, not formatting, so they paste into places that have no underline or strike button. Underline and strikethrough are both available as styles above.
