Fancy fonts for Discord
Discord already has formatting for messages, but it only goes so far. It can't change the letters in your display name, and it has no gothic, outline or typewriter letters. That's where Unicode styles come in. This page shows the styles that tend to look best in Discord's interface, from ๐ค๐ฌ๐ฑ๐ฅ๐ฆ๐ and ๐ ๐ฆ๐ฅ๐๐๐๐ to ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ and gฬทlฬทiฬทtฬทcฬทhฬท.
Where you can use them
- Display name and server nickname. These accept Unicode, so styled letters usually work. Your unique username is stricter and only takes plain characters.
- About Me and status. Great for a short styled line or a kaomoji.
- Messages. For a whole word in gothic or outline letters.
- Server and channel names. Results vary here, since Discord changes some characters in channel names. Test it before you build around one style.
Discord's built-in formatting
In messages you don't need a generator for the basics. Type these and Discord formats them for you:
| You type | You get |
|---|---|
| **bold** | bold text |
| *italic* | italic text |
| __underline__ | underlined text |
| ~~strike~~ | crossed-out text |
| `code` | code style |
Use the styles on this page for the places formatting can't reach, and for looks that markdown can't make.

Keep names short. Long styled names get cut off in member lists and are harder for friends to mention. If you want people to be able to @mention you easily, keep at least part of your nickname in plain letters.

A simple Discord bio template
If you want a Discord bio template, keep it short: a line for who you are, a line for what you play or make, and a line for something fun. Style the first line here, then add a couple of bullets as dividers. Discord's own markdown (like **bold**) works as well, so you can mix both.
